What is paid
Every study shows its pay and expected time before you start. A completed study in good faith is paid the amount shown. The practice test during the application is not paid, and applying is not paid.
Good faith
Good faith means you tried the task, spoke your thoughts, and answered the questions honestly. Failing a task, getting confused or giving up is still good faith. Skipping through, silence for the whole session, or copied answers are not.
Technical failures
If our tools fail mid-session and the failure is on our side, you are paid for the time you spent. If your microphone, screen share or connection fails, we tell you what we could not use and may ask you to redo the study.
Balances and cash-out
Pay lands in your balance when a study is approved, usually within two working days. You can cash out to your connected PayPal account once the balance reaches $6, once every 24 hours. Payments arrive within 24 hours, usually much sooner. If your PayPal account is set to claim payments manually, you have 30 days to claim one before it returns to your balance. Inflight does not charge a fee; PayPal's own terms apply.
Holds
Your first four cash-outs each wait 72 hours. Changing your PayPal account also places a 72-hour hold on payouts while we confirm it was you. The name, country and date of birth on your PayPal account must match your verified identity, or the cash-out is held until they do. A fraud review can hold earnings until it is resolved. Support cannot bypass any of these holds.
Yearly limit
Earnings are limited to $1,900 per calendar year, counting pay that is pending approval. When you reach the limit, study invitations pause until January 1 and resume automatically; your balance stays yours to cash out. The limit sits below the amount at which US tax reporting would apply, so Inflight never needs a tax form from you.
Taxes
You take part as an independent participant, not an employee, and you are responsible for any tax on your earnings. Inflight does not collect tax forms or issue them. PayPal reports payments to tax authorities where the law requires it. Your dashboard keeps a downloadable history of every study and payment for your records.
