Is Inflight legit?

By the Inflight team · Updated

Yes. Inflight is InFlight Software, Inc., a New York software company at 11 W 25th St, Floor 7, New York, NY 10010. Its participant panel pays US adults cash to PayPal for recorded studies of websites and apps, never charges anything to apply, and never asks for bank logins, card numbers or identity documents by email. Every application is reviewed by an Inflight operator.

Who runs the panel

Inflight is a New York software company that studies how people use websites and apps. Testers try real product designs, say what they think as they go, and are paid for every study they finish. With your separate consent, de-identified recordings also train and evaluate AI models that behave like real users. The company's address appears in every agreement you accept, and every agreement is a public page: participant terms, privacy notice, payment policy and recording and model use.

What it costs you

Nothing. Applying is free, there is nothing to buy or subscribe to, and you never pay Inflight anything. The practice test during onboarding is unpaid, and so is applying; Inflight says so on the landing page rather than implying a first payout.

How you are paid

Every study shows its pay and expected time before you start, and a study done in good faith is paid the amount shown even if you got stuck or gave up. Pay is added to your balance when the study is approved, usually within two working days. You cash out to PayPal once your balance reaches $6. The first four cash-outs, and any cash-out after you change your PayPal account, wait 72 hours; after that you can cash out once a day and it arrives within 24 hours. Inflight charges no fee.

What Inflight never asks for

  • A fee, a deposit or a subscription.
  • Your bank login, card number or PayPal password. You connect PayPal from your own account after approval; Inflight only ever sends money to it.
  • Identity documents by email. Identity verification happens directly with a verification provider before your first study; Inflight receives only the decision and never stores your ID image, selfie or face template.
  • Access to your camera, other browser tabs, windows or apps. A study records your voice and the study tab only, while a red dot shows.

Any message claiming to be from Inflight that asks for one of these is not from Inflight. Forward it to support@inflight.review.

How to check any testing panel

  • Is the company named, with an address, in the terms? A panel that will not say who it is cannot pay you.
  • Does it charge to join? Legitimate panels never do.
  • Does it say what is recorded and what is not, before you start?
  • Does it state how and when you are paid, with a minimum and a hold policy you can read?
  • Can you delete your data? Inflight's privacy notice gives a 30-day commitment.

Questions people ask next

Is Inflight the same company as the Inflight review tool?
Yes. InFlight Software, Inc. also makes a visual review product for software teams. The participant panel at inflight.review is a separate product for paid testers.
Why does Inflight verify my identity?
So that every account belongs to one real person, and so the name, country and date of birth on your PayPal account can be matched to you. The documents stay with the verification provider; Inflight only receives the decision.
Can customers contact me?
No. Customers who sponsor a study see de-identified findings. They never buy, browse, contact or re-identify participants.
